Class Learning Time (Basic Edition) The purpose of the CLASS LEARNING TIME tool is to gather data on the time spent on learning tasks and tasks that do not directly contribute to learning. Teacher directions or demonstrations, student discussion or seatwork, watching an instructional video or involvement with an instructional computer program are examples of learning time. Interruptions to the class such as announcements, or the non-learning portion of videos or TV, collecting papers, transitions from one activity to another, or other ‘housekeeping’ tasks are examples of non-learning time.
