Rate of Speech The RATE OF SPEECH Tool will gather data on the number of words and sentences spoken per minute by the individual observed.Click the Word button for each work spoken and the Sentence buttons at the end of each spoken sentence. Practice while watching TV. Records the rate of speech per minute by the individual. Look for difference in rate of speech between monologues and periods of teacher/student interaction. This tool is particularly useful in second language instruction, but also can be helpful where the content being presented is complex. |
